Members of the Florida Law Alliance will present the 5.0 Law and Ethics Course, which will satisfy the new (5-620) course for Florida adjusters required by the State of Florida, Department of Financial Services. The seminar will take place on Thursday, February 26 at the Hilton Orlando/Altamonte Springs. Topics and speakers include:
- Regulatory Awareness. Attorneys Johnny Sarber (Marks Gray) and Michael Schofield (Clark Partinton) will discuss current regulatory entities and licensing requirements in the State of Florida. This presentation will explain Florida’s applicable legislation and case law regarding important issues such as licensing termination, duties, advertising and recordkeeping.
- Insurance Law and Updates. Attorneys John Miller and Robert Anderson (Henderson Franklin) will update attendees on Florida and federal case law pertinent to Florida licensed insurance professionals.
- Ethical Requirements. Attorney Joseph Amos (Fisher Rushmer) will discuss ethical guidelines applicable to handling claims in the State of Florida, including examination of unfair and deceptive acts. They will also explain the best approaches to recognizing required premium discounts.
- Disciplinary and Industry Trends. Attorneys Genevieve Turner (Clarke Silverglate) and Matthew Hall (Hill Ward Henderson) will educate insurance professions on recent violations and enforcement of disciplinary actions against Florida Licensed Insurance Professionals. They will discuss recent cases and violations of various statutes, and the discipline against insurance professionals.
